Next up in our Model Spotlight Series honoring Black History Month is Pornhub Award Winning Favorite Gay Model, Pheonix Fellington. He tells us how he went from dancing to doing porn, shares some brand marketing strategies, his excitement about the Pornhub Awards ceremony, and more!
First things first, tell us how you got started in the adult industry.
I consider dancing and go-go’ing at gay bars a part of the adult entertainment industry. That’s where I got my start. I didn’t know it when I began, but I ran into a lot of different pornstars during that time. People around me at the time also kept bringing up I might be good for porn. One day my interest piqued, I signed up with an agency, got accepted, and was sent to Las Vegas for scenes pretty quickly.
We noticed that some of your videos are teasers under 3 minutes and some videos are over an hour long. Tell us about your strategies to maximize engagement.
The length of my videos are usually determined by the length of the act filmed. Some scenes don’t last as long as the others. I will always post teasers and previews before I release the full video. It gives me a chance to see if people will actually watch it.
Have you seen a correlation between video views on our platform and a growth of subscribers to your fansites and socials since uploading videos on Pornhub?
I thought hard about this question but couldn’t come up with anything. I believe they both serve a purpose and can be utilized.
There is a common misconception that uploading free content on Pornhub impacts your earnings on other platforms. How has your experience been with the traffic on Pornhub and your overall revenue?
That’s right. It doesn’t impact your earnings on other platforms. Pornhub gives you more exposure, but other platforms are for you to monetize content differently.
What was the first moment in your career where you said to yourself, “I’ve made it!”?
I won best newcomer at GAYVN fresh out of the gate my first year. That experience was pretty cool. It felt like I was solidified as a pornstar from then on. It was a crazy fun night. We partied hard after the awards. I even got to meet Danity Kane at the after party.
Congratulations on winning Favorite Gay Model at last year’s Pornhub Awards! What was your favorite part of the night?
Thanks so much! The Pornhub Awards were absolutely my favorite awards show to date. The entire vibe of the night felt like an extravagant house party. I was able to meet so many of my favorite stars in one night.
We heard you’re a talented musician who can play several instruments! How would you describe the music you create?
I create a bunch of pop rap songs these days. My days as a trombonist and playing other instruments are nothing more than a hobby I’ll always enjoy.
Tell us about your career goals! What would you like to accomplish in the next year or two?
MUSIC! MUSIC! MUSIC! Outside of the adult entertainment industry, that’s the next step for me. It’s going to be extremely fun breaking into that industry.
