Today we are celebrating 2 years of excellent work by StopNCII.org (Stop Non-Consensual Intimate Image Abuse). Aylo partnered with StopNCII.org in September 2023, participating in the global initiative to prevent the spread of non-consensual intimate images online. This state-of-the-art project is powered by innovative on-device hashing technology. It is used by tech companies such as Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Bumble, and Snap Inc. to help prevent the sharing of specific intimate images through the creation of digital fingerprints for images and videos.
Since launching in 2021, over 182,000 adults across the world have created cases on StopNCII.org to protect their intimate images from being shared by perpetrators of intimate image abuse. While these numbers may seem staggering, it speaks to the necessity of StopNCII.org’s work in the field.
We would like to take this opportunity to recognize the global efforts that are being taken to put a stop to non-consensual intimate image sharing. For anyone who needs support or requires preventative action, StopNCII.org can help remove control from perpetrators and put it back into the hands of the content creators.
While we are proud to be a partner and proud to celebrate this achievement, there is still plenty of work to be done. Major social media networks and other websites have partnered with StopNCII.org as well. Together, online spaces around the world are teaming up to make the internet a safer place. And with the work we are all doing together, people everywhere will benefit!
