International Sex Workers' Day

International Sex Workers' Day on Pornhub

By Pornhub | July 20, 2022

Forty-six years ago today, over a 100 sex workers began an 8-day protest against inhumane working conditions and occupied Église Saint-Nizier in Lyon, France. Since then, sex workers and allies across the globe come together to march for their right and commemorate the protest that sparked it all on what is now known as International Whores' Day (IWD).

Since the launch of our Model Program, we've focused on showing support for our Model community and creating a space for sexual freedom of expression. Not only has our site evolved and our support team grown to help our PH Models, but we’ve also partnered up with institutions like Sex Workers Outreach Project who are dedicated to human rights for sex workers, and organizations like Pineapple Support who provide mental health resources for people in the adult industry. However, a lot has changed in the last year and we are still working to help evolve the industry, so stay tuned for upcoming projects.

In the meantime, we’ve put together a list of helpful resources for people in the industry, whether you’re thinking of joining, are new, or have been part of the sex workers community for a long time.
