This time around for Model Citizens, our Pornhub interview series, we touched base with the very mysterious Mia Queen. While you might not recognize her by face, you're probably just as impressed with her work as we are.
Although Mia Queen prefers to keep her face hidden — leaving it up to the imagination of her viewers — she's found a way to rise from newbie to rockstar status. She chalks up her success to a little bit of patience, a lot of passion, and a dash of confidence to just do what feels right for you.
Here are Mia Queen's words of wisdom.
We are a Latin American couple living in Spain. We were introduced to Modelhub by another model who was uploading awesome videos for a long time. After that, we learned how the "featured" video system worked and learned how to calculate the gains from the video views. Today, there are many more incredible models, couples, and cosplayers from all over the world compared to when we started. Pornhub offered us to a place to express ourselves and share our sexual life without actually belonging to a couple, making us the boss of our own ideas and videos.There’s a misunderstanding that if you don’t have a professional camera, then you can’t do this. Or if you don’t have a “perfect” body or show your face in the videos, then you won’t succeed.
I think we are a great example that none of that is true, just as long as you have passion and affection for what you do. We started recording with a SmartPhone and a $40 "GoPro." We eventually upgraded with our earnings, but I have to say, we made some of our best videos with our first cameras.
The best way to interact with our fans is with "Snapchat / FanCentro." We offer a single payment for our private Snapchat where I talk to my fans, read their ideas, and stay connected. I also try to reply to all the comments on my videos.
We all know how the Internet is. There are always toxic people who want to criticize your work and open an account just to insult you. Fortunately in our case, 95% of the comments we receive are full of love, which motivates us to keep making videos. At first, we never imagined making more than 100 videos or getting 170 million views in 17 months.
One piece of advice that I’d like to share with those who are just starting is to be patient. Sooner or later, you’ll get featured and possibly get millions of views in a blink of an eye.
From our experience, what fans are looking for most is good audio, good lighting, and above all, naturalness. Do what you would like to see on your Pornhub screen.
Many people prefer a model who shows their face. So I tried that once and showed my face. However, it brought on so many problems to my work life, so we decided to go back to hiding my face and thought it would be the end of us. Thankfully, many fans supported our decision.
We realized that a great number of people “get excited” from not seeing the model’s face because it allows them to use their own imagination while watching the video.
For those of you who would prefer not showing your face, I can assure you that it is not impossible to succeed. Fabulous models like CarryLight, AprilEighteen, and VampireCollective do not need to show their face to get us excited.
