As June wraps up, we wanted to revisit some key facets that make Pride so important here at Pornhub. First and foremost, diversity is one of our core values and we love to celebrate all that entails. Whatever your ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, ability, or body type, we welcome it all. Promoting diversity allows everyone to feel empowered in their body and mind, which creates a strong community for people to connect with. We couldn’t be prouder of the community we have built with diversity at its foundation.
If there’s one thing we love working on, it’s new projects to help promote our community and the wonderful, diverse people who populate it. Currently, we are developing a new initiative with our Brand Ambassador, Natassia Dreams, to welcome and work with more Trans Performers. Viewers are actively searching for more Trans content on our platforms, and we want to showcase and highlight that diverse variety of talent within the industry. Stay tuned for more updates as this comes to fruition!
We are celebrating the launch of this new initiative by way of a charitable donation to GLITS (Gays and Lesbians Living In a Transgender Society). This organization was recommended to us by Natassia for the hard work they do. The donation will go toward further building community, education, creating sustainable living, restoring marginalized communities, and uplifting them with hope and guidance.
[TW: violence] While Pride is definitely a time to celebrate, we also cannot ignore the fact that Trans folks, especially those who are BIPOC, are disproportionally impacted and targeted by violence. We’d like to pay tribute to Koko Da Doll, also known as Rasheeda Williams, a Black Trans sex worker who was shot and killed on April 18th, 2023. Our Brand Ambassador, Natassia Dreams, and Koko were close friends, and we feel it’s important to share a few words about her. Koko was the 3rd Black Trans woman who was violently attacked in Atlanta in 2023. She was 35 years old and taken from us far too soon. To honor her life, her charisma, and her contributions to the world as a Black Trans sex worker, we’d like to encourage our readers to watch her in the new, critically acclaimed documentary, Kokomo City. The film has already picked up 5 awards. The director, producer, and editor, D. Smith, said Koko’s death, “will inspire generations to come and will never be forgotten.” Besides Koko, the film also follows the unapologetic lives of 3 other Black Trans sex workers, including Natassia Dreams, as they battle cultural expectations, relationships, and safety, while sharing their hard-earned wisdom. The film will be playing in select theaters on July 28. Check out the official trailer here.
Pride was a busy month with a lot going on, so in case you missed some important Model Spotlights during that time, we’ve got you covered. First up we had the juicy JellyFilledGirls, the first queer couple to win the Pornhub Fan Voting Award for Favorite Couple. Following JellyFilledGirls was Foxxy, the legendary multi-award-winning hall of famer and Trans icon, known for her unique approach to kindness within the community. And finally, to wrap up pride, we featured Joshy and Locky, two men in love who were recently nominated for Most Popular Gay Performers at the 5th Annual Pornhub Awards. If you missed any of these, you’ll want to circle back and catch up!
And that’s a wrap on Pride this year. We are so thankful to the awesome, diverse community of creators we have here at Pornhub and hope that you found some time to celebrate yourselves this past month. Until next year, Happy Pride!
